It was a Friday, George W. Bush was halfway through his first term as President of the USA.  On this week in April people in were listening to In Da Club by 50 Cent and listening to it quite often. In Europe Beautiful by Christina Aguilera was in the top 5 hits. Holes, directed by Andrew Davis, was one of the most viewed movies based upon the popular book. While Dr. Atkins’ New Diet Revolution by Robert C. Atkins was one of the best selling books and spawned a diet trend that has been going on (and off) for the last 13 years.

50 Cent became the best selling artist in the US so far this year when his latest album ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ sold more than four million copies in two months.  Here’s a look at the rest of the US charts:

  1. 50 Cent – In Da Club
  2. Jennifer Lopez – All I Have
  3. Sean Paul – Get Busy
  4. R. Kelly – Ignition
  5. Ja Rule – Mesmerize
  6. Aaliyah – Miss You
  7. Kid Rock – Picture
  8. Justin Timberlake – Cry Me A River
  9. 3 Doors Down – When I’m Gone
  10. Tyrese – How You Gonna Act Like That

50 Cent has gone on to have quite the successful run as a rapper, actor and Vitamin Water early investor.  However, even after earning a staggering amount of money 50 cent was forced to file for bankruptcy earlier this year.  He jokes about it quite often on his Instagram account so it appears that this was a tactical move to avoid some debts he may have occurred in his various business ventures.  Look for 50 to bounce back in 2016 with a tour scheduled and alleged new music on the way. We also found out that he was terrible at throwing a baseball this past year.
